How To Deal With Being Nervous In A New School

Moving to a new school can be nerve wracking and uncontrollably scary. With these helpful hints you'd be able to feel comfortable and make new friends in no time.

  • Eating lunch Alone
Walking into the lunch room alone can be extremely embarrassing and very awkward. A good way to make sure you have someone to sit with and talk to would be to make a conversation before lunch starts. Making compliments can turn a small conversation into one where you might find something interesting about that person. Pretty soon, you'll have someone to sit by at lunch and they might become your friend.

  • Trying Out
You want to try out for the school play or maybe the cross country team, but are absolutely terrified about getting rejected. A good trick is to see yourself getting exactly what you want. maybe picture yourself making the team and winning first place, or maybe nailing that monologue required for the play. When you visualize something like that, you'll realize what you have to do to get there and it keeps your mind off of the scary ''what ifs".
